Waterfalls of Assynt

Assynt can boast of several fine waterfalls, including Eas-Coul-Aulin, which at nearly 200 m is the tallest free falling waterfall in Britain. There is a footpath which leads to the top of the waterfall, but it is difficult to see it properly. One man, so the story goes, lost his wife who fell to her death. The verdict at his trial for murder was 'not proven'.:-)

Alternatively, it is possible to take a boat trip to see the falls from the bottom. For times of sailings, call at the Assynt Visitor Centre.

Other impressive falls can be seen at Clashnessie and to the east of Inverkirkaig.
