Bird Watching

The number of different species of birds seen in Assynt during recent years is about two hundred. Of these about a quarter are vagrants and other rarities.

The bird-watching visitor is advised to obtain the book "Birds of Assynt" by Doug Mainland and Ian Evans published by the Assynt Field club. It can be obtained from the Assynt Visitor Centre.
