Visit the gardens of Kerrachar

Kerrachar is the home of Peter and Trish Kohn. It lies in its own little bay on the south shore of the great sea loch, Loch a' Chairn Bhain, but what makes Kerrachar unique is that there is no road or path nearer than a mile and a half away across open moorland.

These gardens are well worth a visit if you are at all interested in gardening. Kerrachar is inaccessible by road, and has to be approached by sea. MV Statesman carries visitors from Kylesku.

The boat departs at 12:45 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Phone (44/0) 1571 844446 or check at the booking office on Kylesku pier: (44/0) 1971 502345 .The fare is ten pounds including entrance to the gardens. Children under the age of twelve free. Part of the garden entrance is donated to Scotland's Garden Scheme. See also The gardens of Kerrachar under Charivaria.
