The del and ins tags

These tags are used to indicate that text has been deleted or inserted. In reality, it's a bit of a con!

A discount of <del>30%</del><ins>50%</ins>
gives:

A discount of 30% 50%.

The 'dfn' tag

The 'dfn' tag is used to contain a term which is being defined. In some browsers, it puts the text into italics. E.G.
<dfn>Keyboard shortcuts</dfn> are combinations of key presses, which perform special actions.

The dl, dt and dd tags

These tags are used in a list of definitions.

Basil<dt>
<dd>
Annual, can grow four feet high; the scent of its tiny white flowers is heavenly.</dd>
<dt>
Oregano</dt>
<dd>
Perennial. Sends out underground runners.</dd>
<dt>
Coriander</dt>
<dd>
Annual. also called cilantro, coriander likes cooler weather of spring and fall</dd>
</dl>

gives:
